5 Must Have Tools for Startups in 2018

Most successful entrepreneurs are always looking out for the next gadget, to make their business  more efficient.

But, it’s not just having the right tools at your fingertips.

It’s all about having the right ‘combination’ of tools that will all make the difference.

Apps that display a project dashboard or stop you having to scramble through hundreds of e-mails in your inbox, or ones that can quickly pull up your travel itinerary.

This is why I’ve curated a list of five business apps that come highly recommended.

 

  1. Trello

Trello is worth checking out, especially if you lead a busy life, and need to plan your work or business commitments.

This handy app allows you to create boards for all your projects. It’s aimed at helping you get work completed and staying organised. You’re able to work on projects individually or can add team members, so they can be updated with any tasks they’ve been assigned.

Additionally, you can add to-do lists, assign tasks, comment on items, upload documents and videos and attach files. Free to use. Upgrade to add extra functionality.

  1. Asana

Asana is another well-known productivity app. It works by assigning tasks and helps better team cohesion. Asana can especially benefit businesses with lots of tasks and sub-tasks. It takes a creative approach by managing priorities and tagging tasks and can help you design a customized process just for your organization.

The application works for any browser or device, and there is also an iPhone app. Free for up to 15 people with add on pricing for larger groups.

 

  1. Wunderlist

Transforming your to-do list from paper to digital only makes sense.

Wunderlist is one of the best task-management productivity apps, particularly if you want to keep your costs down (to zero) and you’re not looking for every feature under the sun. The apps’ free version gives you all the essential features to track important tasks and get your work completed.

You can keep track of tasks, from just about anywhere. Wunderlist apps are available for any device, including Mac, iOS, Android, Windows, Kindle Fire, and on the web

The Free version should meet the needs of most individual users. You can assign tasks and subtasks for multiple users. Make reminders for upcoming deadlines, add notes, and set due dates.

Wunderlist is by far one of the easiest task lists to set up and manage. Ideal for small businesses and individuals. Having the ability to assign a task and share details of tasks means everyone can stay up-to-date on a project, and avoid any delays.

 

  1. Basecamp

Basecamp has everything you’d expect from a project management app and more. It’s all built into a streamlined user interface, allowing you to run a full-scale operation in real-time.

Tasks, calendars, file storage, documents and chat sessions are displayed in an innovative, collaborative way. This means each of your project’s team members can have a current, clear, full picture of both short and long-term goals.

Basecamp’s have deviated from the per-user pricing model. Instead, charging a flat rate of $99 per month or $999 a year. Non-profits or charities receive a 10% discount. Basecamp’s tools are free for Students and teachers.

Compatibility: Most major web browsers, macOS (OS X 10.9 and above), Windows 7 and above, Android, iOS (iPad, iPhone, iPod touch).

 

  1. Evernote

Evernote has now been around for a number of years. It’s one of the best apps to boost your productivity. With a variety of built-in note-taking functions. It means you can change the way you  organise both your professional and personal projects.

Notes, notebooks and to-do lists can be easily used to write, analyse and store your (new) business ideas. Notes can be taken in a wide range of file formats, from text, photos, sketches, audio, web clippings, PDFs and many more.

You’ll never have to worry about losing your precious notes ever again. This app can sync across all multiple devices, so if you lose your cell phone, your client’s important work will still be on your laptop. You could even use it as a scaled-down project management tool.

It’s free to use. Although more features are available by upgrading to the Pro version.
